Drawing useful reference sketch
Workshop Objective
This workshop invites participants to rediscover and develop their natural ability to draw from nature and their surroundings. Precise observational drawing is an essential part of the visual artist’s craft. Throughout art history, the Old Masters created their own studies and sketches by regularly drawing from life.
From childhood, we are taught to believe that only precise measuring instruments can be trusted. My method instead focuses on active observation and comparison, establishing relationships between all the elements within our field of vision. This approach helps us determine proportions, dimensions, and depth, while developing a deeper understanding of how objects relate to one another in space—an essential key to three-dimensional perception.
All you need is your eyes and pencil.
Whatever is your intention in terms of creativity, your accurate sketches have the firsthand visual information for you. Informative sketching improves sense of composition and 3D perception. It is basic foundation for all later visual creations particularly in disciplines as sculpture, or aquarelle.
