Throughout her career, Ingeborg Jürgensen Hiscox has worked with a wide variety of materials and techniques, with woodcut printing being her preferred medium. Through the drawings, carvings, and endless combinations of colors and impressions, the journey is always rich in exploration and surprises, until the moment of grace when the work is complete.

The starting point of a work can be an idea on a theme, a response to an image, a person, or a landscape, an everyday event, an emotion seeking expression, a moment of contemplation, a collage, or scratches on an old elevator door… The original ideas are then transformed toward abstraction as the work progresses, in the dialogue between shapes and colors.
