About This Exhibition
Suzanne Ferland examines our relationship with land through her artistic approach.
Throughout photography, she captures certain angles of landscapes that she reframes in order to offer a different perspective. These “standstill moments” grab her attention through symbolic and articial interests. She freely composes a visual space that she transfers into painting, thus creating an unseen universe set in between reality and imagination.
Perceived spaces offers a personal view of different places that symbolize fragile gardens of life and revival, like the orchard and the marsh. Throughout these Perceived Spaces, the artist offers an artificial depiction of reality at which point our perspective loses its typical examples of landscape.
