Movie Night
Rivers & Tides, a fascinating documentary on Andy Goldsworthy, master of Land Art
Date: Thursday, April 10 Duration: 90 minutes, in English Cost: Free |
Time: 7 pm to 9 pm
Location: Arts Sutton art center, 7 Academy Street |
As part of its new program of activities, Arts Sutton held a Land Art workshop last fall. This workshop, which we’ll be running again in the coming months, enabled us to consider how much our region, rich in diverse landscapes, is an ideal environment for developing an artistic bond with nature and interacting with it by sharpening our sensitivity and stimulating our creativity. A regenerative approach, whatever your usual artistic practice.
Following this workshop, Arts Sutton presents its first art film screening, the magnificent documentary Rivers and tides, about the work of the great British Land Art artist Andy Goldsworthy. We follow the artist in his complex, poetic and ephemeral creations made of leaves, earth, icicles, rocks, flowers…
This Anglo-German co-production, directed in 2001 by Thomas Riedelsheimer, has won numerous awards, including Best Documentary from the San Diego Film Critics Society and the San Francisco Film Critics Circle.
A touching, inspiring, magical film.
An informal chat will follow the screening.
It’s a rendez-vous!
