HANNAH COHEN

This retrospective exhibition brings together a vast body of work created over the past 28 years. Rather than following a chronological progression, the exhibition highlights the transformations, explorations and many creative paths that have shaped the artist’s practice. Bringing together works made from a variety of materials, the exhibition reflects the ongoing evolution of the artist’s approach while inviting visitors to discover a universe where fantasy, lightness and imagination come together.

In her early years, her work in drawing and painting was closely connected to her profession as a speech-language pathologist. Over time, her artistic practice evolved through an extensive process of exploration that led her to experiment with new materials, including clay, wood and felt. Sculpture gradually became a privileged space for experimentation, allowing her to give form to a universe that is both sensitive and distinctive.

Whether imaginary, playful, abstract or realistic, her works reflect a constant curiosity and a desire for renewal. This retrospective reveals the major transitions that have marked her artistic journey, including the shift from a universe inspired by anatomy toward an imaginative world deeply rooted in nature and the animal realm. It offers an overall perspective on a rich, free and continually evolving body of work.
