Members' Thematic Exhibition: LOVE
From November 26 to December 20, 2026
For the 8th consecutive year, Arts Sutton invites all artists, from all artistic disciplines, who are members in good standing of its art center, to submit a proposal for the Thematic Exhibition, which will be held from November 26 to December 20, 2026.
An independent jury will review the submissions and select the artists who stand out in their opinion. All participants will receive a response, whether positive or negative, by email.
LOVE
This year, Arts Sutton’s annual members’ group exhibition will explore the theme of love.
Love can take a thousand forms.
It can be immense or subtle, gentle or overwhelming, obvious or difficult to name.
It can be the love we hold for a person, a place, a community, nature, the world around us, and the things that shape who we are.
Love for others… For those who are dear to us, our family, our friends, our children. But also for those we understand less, those who think differently, those who challenge or unsettle us… Learning to love the darker parts of ourselves, and of others.
Love for a place, a history, a culture, a landscape. Love for what brings us together, for what belongs to us, and for what we choose to preserve.
Here, at Arts Sutton, this love comes to life through art. A place where ideas circulate, emotions are shared, and people come together through creation.
Creating is an act of love.

Submission Guidelines
Submissions must include: an up-to-date curriculum vitae, a brief summary of the artistic approach, a clearly identified and numbered photo of each submitted artwork (All files combined must not exceed 20 MB).
Deadline for submission: Sunday, November 8, 2026, before midnight
General Rules
To participate:
- Artists must be 18 years or older and a member in good standing of Arts Sutton Art Center (or become a member at the time of registration). The annual membership fee for artist members is $60.
- Artists may submit one to six original, exclusive, and recent works (created in 2025 or 2026), identified as follows:
- Artist's name
- Title of the work
- Year of creation
- Technique and mediums
- Dimensions (in centimeters)
- Price
- All works must be completely dry or fixed and ready to hang: eyelets and wire hanging system only. (No other hanging systems will be accepted.)
- Accepted techniques and mediums: collage, drawing, printmaking, oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, pastel, ink, mixed media, and photography
- Sculptures must be self-supporting and easily transportable by one person.
- 2D and 3D works requiring special installation will not be accepted.
- Arts Sutton will retain a commission equivalent to 35% of the sale price of any work sold.
To encourage the creation of works that more closely engage with our chosen themes, we will now announce the following year’s theme at the opening of our annual members’ group exhibition.

Delivery of Selected Works
Selected works must be delivered to the art center on Monday, November 23, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Pickup of Works
Artists must retrieve their works on Sunday, December 20, between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., or on Monday, December 21, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Exhibition Dates
Thursday, November 26 to Sunday, December 20, 2026
Opening Reception
Sunday, November 29 2026, at 2 p.m.
Closing and People’s Choice Award Ceremony
Sunday December 20, 2026 at 4 p.m.
