Cyanotype print on organza solk and ink on veil
Marie-Pierre Lortie creates motifs generated by the body in movement, offering us a fascinating spectacle. This series of works displays a diaporama of images captured in a blow, traced, assembled, superimposed and painted in transparency, with ink on veil or printed on silk with a monochrome photographic process called cyanotype.
The elusive takes shape and color comes to life. The transparency of veil creates a depth through which light filtrates. Following the dance of opposites, between the subtle links unifying shadow and light, positive and negative, weightlessness and gravity, transparency and opaqueness, the movement stops for an instant to create figurative artworks expressive and vibrant with poetry.
