Born in Montreal in 1948, Pierre Auger studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in 1969. Introduced to printmaking by Jeannine Leroux-Guillaume, he then trained at Lacourière Frélaut in Paris. A long experience in art foundry leads him to explore alternative printing techniques. He also collaborates in the production of art events alongside Serge Lemoyne. Over the past 40 years, he has participated in several exhibitions and individual and group shows.
Pierre E. Auger dares to explore various materials ranging from prints on various substrates, installations of fabrics and clothing. In recent years it is above all to drawing that he has devoted himself.
Today, Auger offers a mature work in which symbolism, while occupying a central place, is revealed as more fluid. Breathing and freedom occupy more space there, without however relieving the observer from the pleasure of decoding the work. His drawings take us into a magical universe of surreal characters and strange animals where nature always keeps a primordial place.
